BREAKING NEWS VIDEO: Anti-racist activist Mona Eltahawy was arrested in New York for expressing herself on the subway! Yesterday, Mona Eltahawy had enough of the racist and stigmatizing IDA posters on the New York Metro. And in a peaceful protest she starts spraying one of these posters… PINK.
Thanks for trying the peaceful protest Mona, we wish more people did the same, although it didn’t help you from staying out of jail.

The actual poster that lead Mona into this pink crusade against rasicm is (Just like that Mohammed movie) way too famous by now stating: “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat jihad.”
The ad first appeared in San Francisco last month and has made its way to New York. It is funded by the American Freedom Defense Initiative, a program stemming from the Stop Islamization of America a “far-right anti-Islam/anti-Muslim organization” that is even called a “hate group” by the American Defamation League (ADL). Which pretty much sounds like people in the USA (with too much money) who have never been anywhere in MENA are afraid of people over here, and use said money to convince more Americans to be afraid of people from over here.
The group uses the right to freedom of speech to legitimize the campaign, and even though anyone with a brain can understand it is racist, demeaning, and promotes bigotry, the United States court ruled in favor of keeping it on the walls of the metro, even though the owners of the metro didn’t want it. But an Arab-American woman spraying it pink was just too much.
The ad’s use of “savage vs. civilized” is an age-old American propaganda tool, personally I can’t believe we’re still using it because it’s so outdated. We used it to create tension between Americans and Native Americans which ultimately led to the demise of their population, rights, culture, and history. Also, along with the British many decades ago we used it to refer to the Arabs in a way to manipulate them into our agenda. They were savage, they needed the West to rule them and clean-up basically.
The ad is telling us that there is a war going on between the civilized man and the savage. Then we realize it’s Israel who is the civilized man. Which leads us to infer that the savages are the Palestinians. But…war? Is it really a war when you have a superpower completely crushing a native people, containing them in the world’s largest open-air prison, and ultimately running an apartheid state? THAT is war?
And the use of ‘jihad’ which means struggle usually in the religious, Muslim sense of the word, is propelled so out of context and incorrectly. We’ve taken this word “jihad” and made everyone in America believe it’s synonymous with “terrorism”. Well, jihad doesn’t cover the Christian Palestinians who are just struggling to stay alive and live on the land they’ve populated forever. Jihad can be the struggle within yourself to be a better person, and it can also be your religious duty to defend Islam.
So the shrill little lady attempts to thwart Mona’s expression on this piece of free speech. Mona responds by saying “I have an understanding of racism…I am expressing myself freely against hate and racism.” Then Mona is handcuffed by the police and arrested on charges the police themselves don’t even know yet, so they say she hurt the woman by spray painting her (but it’s more accurate to say the woman followed Mona’s spray can with her body).
