Adrian’s Obsessions: Weekly Music List #3

It’s great to be back on a Friday (even though every day is the same day now that I’m jobless). Anyways, last week was incessant party and going out every night till the break of dawn. I was exhausted so I made a promise to chill out a bit and my list this week reflects that…kind of. Enjoy some nice varied tunes to keep you going till next week.

1. At Home: Crystal Fighters
OMG DO YOU KNOW WHY THIS SONG IS ON MY LIST THIS WEEK!? I finally bought my ticket home! First time to visit the ol’ USA in over a year! I was stressing about the ridiculously expensive ticket, trying to find a good time that will suit everybody (you seriously can’t please everybody, remember MOM is #1), and other things but all that worry is gone because now it’s just smooth sailing. Listen to feel the pleasure and warmth this song brings.

2. Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools: D E N A
Ok I know I said I wasn’t going to add any party songs but we took this song a bit too far, you know, living the cash, diamond rings, swimming pools kind of life. The video is totally cool and the Norwegians like to describe the girl as “Someone you think is not attractive at all until you keep watching and by the end of the video you’re totally in love with her.” Ok, Norwegians.

3. Bad Kids: Black Lips
We went to the Black Lips show last week, and even played beer pong with them (2famous won btw) so this song is for them and for us because we had so much fun! Make sure to stay tuned for the video version of all this epicness coming out on 2famous.TV in the upcoming days!

4. Never Leave You: Lumidee
Recently my friend Elizabeth visited me which meant I was shot back to all the great booty shaking classics we used to jiggle to when we studied together at AUB. Some people just don’t get it when you like top 40 shit, that you love to move your body in really hard and graphic ways. Elizabeth does. In fact she almost got thrown out of Demo for insisting a) that Whitney is a queen therefore they must b) play some Whitney. Obvi they didn’t understand. Here’s something we danced to at my pre-party.

5. Come A Little Bit Closer: Jay and the Americans
Sometimes it’s good for your health to listen to old American music from the 50′s (I grew up on it!). This is definitely a ‘try out your mashed-potato and twist moves’ kind of song. Don’t wear pants and grab a hairbrush. And if you have a significant other (not required) grab them too and see how funny you move together. Plus you might be able to learn a little espanol while you’re at it. Let this one glide you through the weekend. Xx
