The number one tourist destination in the Middle East, Dubai, hits the news again with a PR stunt that will definitely make women wanting to visit the luxurious city state think twice.
Marte(24), the rape victim, was sentenced to 16 months in jail by those whom she reported it to under the charge of ‘having sex outside of marriage.” This happens to under-represented migrant worker women all the time everyday, then again it’s probably never reported anyways. Needless to say, we at 2FamousTV recognize this isn’t a once-in-a-lifetime case but it shows that Dubai boldly breaks Human Rights laws even with Norwegian citizens. At the end of a business trip in Dubai Marte woke up while she was being raped by a coworker on her Qatar-based company trip.
In Norway it is normal to report these things to the police and so she did, perhaps without knowing how this institution works in the Middle East.
Instead of getting help, like she had hoped for, she ended up jailed for having sex outside of marriage. Despite of its groundbreaking ski slopes and monster aquariums “Wanna be modern” Dubai totally fails to appear even close to civilized when it comes to Rape. I mean it doesn’t take much thinking to figure out you cannot punish anyone for being raped.Apparently money can’t buy you class or brains, which kind of sucks for Marte who was totally blinded with the modern luxurious and stylish image Dubai has been working so hard to attain. It’s hard to know the Judiciary System is so stone age when the police are driving around in Lamborginis. It’s sending mixed signals, to say the least.
After she reported the rape she was held in a prison cell for 4 days. Her trial on Tuesday resulted in her 16-month sentence which she appealed and will re-trial for in September. During this period she is forbidden to leave Dubai.
-“They took all my money, bag and passport before they put me on the cell, she said. In the end she was able to borrow a phone card so she could call home.”
Worst call ever?
-“I just told my dad: I was raped, I am in jail, you have to call the embassy. I am in Bur Dubai Police station.”
At the moment Marte is stuck in Dubai and considered a fugitive who will be jailed if she gets in contact with the police. The Police is probably scared she is going to get raped again.
Marthes step dad says he will never forgive the Company she worked for for not informing him about what was happening. And now he warns Norwegian women against working in the Middle East.
In Dubai, the only way a rapist will be convicted and the victim acquitted of her (nonexistent) crime is either:
The rapist admits to the crime
Four Muslim males witness the crime
Another story to re-blow your mind towards the backwardsness of Dubai’s judiciary system is as follows:
A bystander films a Dubai law official assaulting and beating a defenseless driver and is then sentenced to a 20,ooo DHS fine and 2-years in jail for defaming someone’s honor and filming without permission…
While Gaza is under attack and God only knows what is going down in Syria, Lebanese Rapper Kiki C released her single “The Mediterranean,” in which she raps “It’s about to be a great year!”
Cleverly enough Kiki C, the rapper who sounds like Ke$ha but still looks like an Arab porn popstar, avoids mentioning who this is ‘about to be a great year’ ... [more]

Nowadays we also have Admiral P and Store P (there is actually a guy called Tande P too but he has gone missing), so it is bit complicated to find out who is the Original P. We made a mini documentary to find out!

Jewish British MP Sir Gerald Kaufman discussing the situation in Israel!
“Most of my parents’ families – because my parents came here as refugees – most of my parents families were murdered in the Holocaust. When the Germans came to the town from which my mother came in Poland, Stachov, they lined up all the Jews to march to the railway station to be put in cattle-wagons. But for those who were not well enough to march, they killed them on t... [more]
